Is “this” referring to the thing you have been reading? Or, is “this” referring to something else? Is “this” a metaphor for something bigger? Is “this” an attempt to understand reality? “This” reality? Is there another? Is that knowable? Or, are there limitations to our own understanding to the extent that all we can understand is what we perceive as reality? Are our perceptions of reality all the same? We may know the answer to “this” question. But there are a lot of questions we cannot answer. Are there perceptions we share? Is “this” set of perceptions enough of a basis to form a sense of mutual understanding? Is “this” all about us? Who is included in us? Is “this” an attempt to understand who counts as us? “This” has gotten deep.
